Constanze was born in Hong Kong. She began to have piano lessons since the age of five. Later, she studied piano performance in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1996 with Mr. Gabriel Kwok, where she was awarded her Diploma in Music and Bachelor degree in Piano with Honours. She also received the diploma of Licentiate in Piano Performance (with Distinction) from the Trinity College of Music, as well as the Advanced Certificate of Piano Performance (with Distinction) from the Royal Schools of Music.

*

Awards

During her studies, Constanze was awarded several prestigious scholarships, including the Bloomberg Scholarship and a scholarship from the Liberal Arts department leaded by Prof. Betty Wei, where she toured Europe in summer 2000 with her research in fine arts. Later on, when she pursued her studies in the Netherlands, in 2001 to 2004, she was awarded two times continuously the honoured full scholarships from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund.

*

Performance

Constanze enjoys performing solo and chamber repertoire. She has given numerous concerts in Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. She has performed in the Grachten Festival Amsterdam, Utrecht Early Music Festival’s fringe concert and in the Austrian Carinthia’s Music festival with the Hong Kong Academy Orchestra.

*

In 2006, she performed a Mozart’s concerto with the Royal Conservatoire Orchestra, conducted by Ryo Terakado to celebrate the 250 anniversary of Mozart’s birthday, where she received comments from music critics that ‘Constanze Lee performed the concerto in a magisterial manner’. (HAGAZ!INE, January 2006)

*

In 2008, Constanze gave concerts regularly with her vocal ensemble, Trio Luscinia, featuring with a Canadian Soprano, Stefanie True and an Austrian mezzo-soprano, Michaela Riener. She is a founder and artistic director of the Sterren Oude Muziek series and Sterrenfestival in Utrecht.

*

She has collaborated with Schonbrunn Ensemble on the recording of the Mozart flute concertos for the Globe label. With the Pramea Esemble, she recorded two CDs featuring rare and unpublished pre-classical flute trios. In autumn 2009, she recorded the 2nd Cello Suite by Bach for the Silver Bee project in Poland.

*

Agnieszka devotes herself to the research of improvisation techniques of the first cellists, including chordal realisation of basso continuo on cello.

*

Agnieszka plays a cello made by Benoit Fleury in Paris in 1763.

During her modern cello studies at the Music Academy in Katowice, Poland, Ania decided to specialize in historically informed performance of Baroque and Classical music. This decision was followed by many years exploring techniques of playing on period instruments and studying source materials, treatises, instruction books, and diaries.

*

Ania studied baroque cello with Jaap ter Linden (Royal Conservatoire, The Hague), Phoebe Carrai/Markus Möllenbeck (Universität der Künste Berlin), and Thomas Fritzsch/Mark Caudle (Akademie für Alte Musik Oberlausitz). She obtained her diploma in viola da gamba at the Academy of Music in Wroclaw (Poland). Apart from her formal studies, Ania has taken part in many music courses, working with musicians such as William Carter, Bruno Cocset, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Maggie Faultless, and Mark Padmore. Ania has also been a participant in the Jerwood/Experience Project of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Academy Baroque Européenne d’Ambronay, and Generation Baroque. She was a member of the European Union Baroque Orchestra in 2008, coming back later to reinforce the orchestra for concerts in the Edinburgh and London Festivals, and for Mozart’s Requiem in January, 2011, in Oxford.

*

Ania has given solo recitals at the Bach Festival in Katowice (Poland), Bach-Fest in Sumy (Ukraine) and in Eu (France). In June 2009 and April 2011, she performed at the Aldeburgh Music Festival with the Britten-Pears Baroque Orchestra, both as a continuo cellist and as a soloist on viola da gamba, for J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion (under Masaaki Suzuki) and St. John Passion (under Mark Padmore). She has also collaborated with Arte dei Suonatori, Accademia dell’Arcadia, Le Parlement de Musique, New Dutch Academy, International Baroque Players, Brabants Muziek Collegie, Concerto Polacco, and Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra. Her music travels have taken her to most European countries, where she has performed at many festivals, including the Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music (England), Edinburgh International Festival (Scotland), Aldeburgh Festival (England), Festival Glasperlenspiel (Estonia), Early Music LIVE! (Sweden), Sofia Baroque Arts Festival (Bulgaria), Festival International Echternach (Luxemburg), Festival de la Vezere (France), Chantarelle Fesitival (Poland), Muzyka w raju (Poland), and Trzy Baroki (Poland). She has had the privilege of playing under many renowned conductors, including Masaaki Suzuki, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Ivan Fischer, Jordi Savall, Hervé Niquet, Enrico Onofri, Mark Padmore, Roy Goodman, Edward Higginbottom, Peter van Heyghen, Martin Gester, Kati Debretzeni, Chiara Banchini, and Margaret Faultless.

*

Ania is co-founder of the early music ensemble “Parnassos”, which performs regularly both in Poland and abroad, and has recorded 2 CDs. Ania is also currently a member of the chamber ensembles “Concordi Musici” and “Fidibus Ensemble”. In December 2008, she participated in the recording of Water Music by G.F. Händel with Lars Ulrik Mortensen. She also took part in a DVD recording of the Four Seasons by A. Vivaldi with Kati Debretzeni and Arte dei Suonatori.

*

For the past three years, Ania has taught baroque cello at Les Ateliers de Musique Ancienne in Le Treport (France).

Originally, his main subject was trumpet, but it was soon replaced by the French horn. After graduating from the secondary music school, he started his studies at the Music Academy in Poznań where he was accepted to the horn class of professor Krzysztof Stencel in 2002. He participated in numerous masterclasses, as well as orchestral and chamber music projects. While still studying in his fourth year, he was inspired by the art of playing the natural horn, introduced to him by his professor. He bought a suitable instrument and started a regular practice. During a lesson with Teunis van der Zwart, Krzysztof was invited to study at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague. He was accepted at this conservatory after finishing his studies in Poland.

*

Krzysztof’s main interests focus on performing chamber music. He is an active member of wind quintets and wind octets, as well as with small ensembles with fortepiano. He also performs with the following orchestras: New Dutch Academy, Warsaw Chamber Opera, Eik en Linde Baroque Ensemble, and Il Concerto Barocco.

Thanking the thoughtful guidance of her teachers Barbara Kallaur, Kate Clark, Wilbert Hazelzet, and Barthold Kuijken, Amanda has since become a sought-after collaborator in chamber music and orchestral work, performing regularly throughout the United States and Europe.

*

Amanda has performed with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra; Ensemble Voltaire; Het Barokorkest van de Dom Cantorij in Utrecht; the Bach Orchestra of the Netherlands; the Rheinische Kantorei and Das Kleine Konzert; and Cantus Cölln. She is an active member of several chamber music ensembles. With Barcelona Barroc, she recently gave chamber music concerts in the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden. With Prima Prattica, a mixed consort focusing on Renaissance music, she has toured in England, Germany, and the Netherlands. With Ensemble Eloquentia, The Royal Windplayers, and Trio Delta, she performs chamber music of the Classical period. As a member of Il Sussurro, she explores the quiet and nuanced colors of the early Classical flute in combination with clavichord.

*

Amanda has also participated in the Bloomington Early Music Festival, in Bloomington, Indiana, the U.S.A.; the International Harp Convention in Prague, the Czech Republic; the Corso Internazionale die Musica Antica in Urbino, Italy; the Casa de Mateus Festival in Vila Real, Portugal; the Festival Internacional de Musica de Cadaques in Cadaques, Spain; the 3rd Festival Internacional de Música Clásica de Ribadeo, Spain; the Köthener Bachfesttage, in Köthen, Germany; and the Trigonale Festival der Alten Musik, in Austria.
